Is it right for me?
Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you have broken or irritated skin in the area, or an active skin flare-up. Everything else is checked at your consultation.
Before your appointment
Avoid sunbeds and strong sun for a week before
Stop any other retinoids (such as retinol or prescription retinoid creams) 5 days before
You can keep using your Medik8 Crystal Retinal at home right up to the day before – no need to stop
Tell me about any allergies, skin conditions or medication
Aftercare
SPF 30 or higher every day – retinal makes skin more sensitive to the sun
Your Medik8 Crystal Retinal is fine to carry on with as normal
Keep the rest of your routine gentle and hydrating while your skin settles
Possible side effects
Mild redness, tightness or light flaking for a day or two. Skin is more sensitive to the sun afterwards.
